In Farsi, “Hamsayeh” (ham=same + sayeh=shadow) means neighbor, but in reality it has a deeper meaning. In Persian culture people love to share whatever they have together, friends, family, guests or even strangers. “Hamsayeh” means someone they share their shade or shadow with. To share shades with someone, you must cross walls, disregard thresholds, and be present in your neighbor's territory.
The relationship between the residents of a building and the residents of the surrounding buildings in Persian culture is much more than what we see in different countries. Neighbors not only exchange information but also lend a hand in various daily activities. They often share meals, indulge in gossip, and sometimes even collaborate on important decisions together.
In fact, community will build when neighbors breaks the boundaries of individual life and creates a bigger boundary in the area of a neighborhood, and regardless of what job they have, they spend hours of their day together in the common spaces of that neighborhood. Unfortunately, this relationship has faded in the densely populated cities of Iran, but it has not disappeared yet

The project has three entrances designed to guide pedestrians into the neighborhood and toward the outdoor gathering area. Adjacent to each ramp, there's also a ground-level entrance leading to the space beneath the project. This area can serve as a shared indoor space for the entire community, like a coworking space or fitness center. It receives natural light through hollow holes scattered throughout the building.
These structured connections both above and below the project offer residents and pedestrians a more intimate experience of the concept of "Hamsayeh".
